Drug dependence means that a person needs a drug to function normally. Abruptly stopping the drug leads to withdrawal symptoms. Drug addiction is the compulsive use of a substance, despite its negative or dangerous effects.Addiction can turn a perfectly healthy individual into a complete mess. There are many things that one can become addicted to. The common denominator is that it can ruin your life.

• The sign lord of the 5th house
• The Nakshatra in which the lord of 5th house falls
• The planets occupying the 5th house
• The Leo sign and the house in which it falls in a birth chart
• The planet Sun
• The Nakshatra in which the cusp of the 5th house falls
• Planets aspecting the above.

The Astrological Probability of Drug Addiction
• If in a chart the 5th lord is debilitated and under influence of Rahu and/or Saturn then the child may get attracted to drugs during relevant periods
• If the 5th lord is afflicted and the Moon is weak then due to mental problems the child may get hooked to drugs.
• If Sun and Mars are conjunct in the 5th house and under malefic aspects then due to mental irritation the child may be drawn to drugs
• If in a chart the 5th lord is under malefic influences and a watery sign in the 7th house is occupied by a maleic planet then the child may turn to alcoholic drinks.
